• Our Focus

GenTrust is an investment firm that provides sophisticated and customized investment solutions to high net worth individuals, families and institutions. We are a trusted counselor to our clients, working to safeguard their wealth and grow it over time.

We focus on providing multi-generational stewardship of capital. For this, we charge one fee. As Fiduciaries to our clients, we are committed to serving only in their best interests.

Discerning investors choose GenTrust for our experience, our alignment of interest, and the transparency of our fee-based model...all of which underscores our accountability

Asset Management

The investment approach we take at GenTrust enables us to apply the rigor and accountability of institutional investing to the cutting edge investment strategies we developed to specifically support the sophisticated needs of principals at hedge funds and private equity firms.

Our institutional clients include a central bank, corporate treasuries, foundations and endowments – and the solutions we implement for each relationship are completely customized.

GenTrust’s solutions can be viewed as four broad categories:

Solutions
  • FIXED
    INCOME MANAGEMENT
Our investment team has extensive experience in fixed income, constructing carefully tailored portfolios. We believe that one key advantage we have is our size – large enough to be institutional yet small enough to be nimble.
  • ALTERNATIVE BETA STRATEGIES
We developed a liquid alternative beta strategy in which we systematically trade options for our clients, allowing them to benefit from short- and long-term inefficiencies in the pricing of option volatility.
  • TAX EFFICIENT RISK PARITY PORTFOLIOS
We have built a risk parity strategy which focuses on tax efficiency. The strategy is fully customizable and broadly diversified in a portfolio of low-cost investments balanced across various macroeconomic regimes.
  • ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENTS
GenTrust’s affiliate Catenary Alternatives Asset Management provides our clients with exposure to alternative investment strategies that seek to improve total portfolio performance by producing returns that are truly uncorrelated to equity and fixed income asset classes – even in times of market stress.
FOR SELF-DIRECTED CLIENTS OR THOSE
WITH THEIR OWN FAMILY OFFICE
GenTrust offers a wide selection of investment options that can complement even the most sophisticated portfolios. Such investment options and strategies include:
  • MUNICIPAL
    BOND MANAGEMENT
  • TAX EFFICIENT RISK
    PARITY PORTFOLIOS
  • ALTERNATIVE
    BETA
  • ALTERNATIVE
    INVESTMENTS
  • FOR REGISTERED INVESTMENT
    ADVISORS

RIAs seek out the GenTrust platform as an ideal means of solving their investment challenges. They turn to us for our investment experience, extensive risk management infrastructure and wide ranging investment technology. We offer flexible services, ranging from one-stop shopping to à la carte offerings. We are proud to partner with other independent RIAs, respectful that their most important asset is their client relationships.

Wealth Management

GenTrust provides a comprehensive and flexible array of investment solutions to ultra-high net worth individuals, families and family offices. We offer personal attention and service, creating a differentiated client experience focused on alleviating the anxiety often associated with financial decision-making.

  • 01
    Balance Sheet Assessment
We meet with our clients to discuss in-depth the particular characteristics that make up their investment profile. Among the many factors we consider are their full balance sheet (assets and liabilities), risk tolerance, cash flow, liquidity needs, tax issues and retirement/estate needs.
  • 02
    Investment Policy
We then develop an explicit Investment Policy Statement (IPS) to define not only the client’s goals, but a specific investment benchmark to hold GenTrust accountable for the performance of the portfolio.
  • 03
    Integrated Support
Our IPS also addresses how we will coordinate with the client’s other trusted advisors (accountants, lawyers, business managers, etc.) to create integrated solutions.
First and foremost, we believe that what distinguishes GenTrust is our willingness to be held accountable for the performance of each of our client’s portfolios. We do this by creating individual, agreed-upon benchmarks.
